    meet your Italian-American hostess

I’m Jessica Vecchione, an American based in New York’s Catskills and the owner of Casa della Zia, where I’ll be your hostess during your Umbrian stay.

My ties to Italy run deep. My mother was Roman, my father a first-generation Italian-American, and much of my family still lives in Italy, including in Umbria. I spent many summers there growing up, return often, and am fluent in Italian.

In 2023, I fulfilled a lifelong dream by purchasing a home in Vallo di Nera, a village I first visited in 1968 with my Aunt Luigina — the “Zia” behind Casa della Zia’s name. Today, I host small groups, families, and friends in this stone home, thoughtfully updated for comfort while preserving its character.

Every stay is personal. I’d love to talk about what you hope to experience in Italy and help shape an itinerary that’s truly your own.
